About Dr. Wendel
Dr. Wendel serves the Fraser Valley area, with his main office in Surrey, BC in the City Centre 2 building across from Surrey Memorial Hospital. He performs cataract, pterygium, and eyelid surgery, and has a special interest in uveitis, but sees all general types of general eye disorders.
Cataract Surgery
A cataract is a normal aging change of the eye. Cataract surgery involves topical anesthetic eye drops, a small incision through the cornea, and ultrasound energy applied to the cataract. Once the cataract is removed via ultrasound and vacuum technology, a new lens must be used for proper vision. There are many types of intraocular lenses, and Dr. Wendel will discuss the options for your eye with you at your appointment with him.
Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery
Dr. Wendel has extensive experience in eyelid surgery including blepharoplasty, ectropion, and entropion repair, as well as chalazion/stye removal.
